Platinum with millegraine rims throughout, formed of bands of Single and Old European cut diamonds (160 diamonds, approximately 4.45ct total weight) alternating with wide and narrow bands of rectangular cut sapphires (60 sapphires, approximately 9.95ct total weight), engraved with date 10-4-27, stamped 59000 MD and with French gold, platinum and maker's mark.
Charles Holl was a prestigious French jeweler whose workshop was known for creating jewels for Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels during the early to mid-twentieth century. Founded in May of 1917, Charles Holl had workshops in Paris and Strasbourg. Later, the firm also opened a workshop in New York City in the 1930s.
