The arms are those of the Nightingales and Shirleys for Joseph Gascoigne Nightingale (1695-1752) of Manhead, co. Devon and Enfield, co. Middlesex, and his wife Elizabeth (1704-1731), the eldest daughter of Washington Shirley, 2nd Earl Ferrers (1677-1729), whom he married in 1725.

Gift of Anne Gascoigne (1655-1726), daughter of Francis Theobald (1621-1679) of Barking and his wife Anne Nightingale (1625-1688), sister of Sir Thomas Nightingale 4th Bt. (d.1722), to his beautiful daughter;
Lady Elizabeth Shirley (1704-1731), daughter of Washington Shirley, 2nd Earl Ferrers, on the occasion of her marriage to Joseph Gascoigne Nightingale MP (1695-1752) in 1725, then bequeathed by will to her son;
Washington Gascoigne Nightingale (1727-1754), bequeathed by will to his sister;
Elizabeth Gascoigne Nightingale 1731-1755), wife of Wilmot Vaughan, 1st Earl of Lisburne (d.1800), then by descent to;
Ernest, 7th Earl of Lisburne (1892-1965), of Trawsgoed in Cardiganshire;
