The covered cup with half-fluted body and applied girdle, on gadrooned foot and with "S" form handles, the front with embossed cartouche of Baroque scrolls and scalework, the cover domed and with bands of gadrooning, fluting and beading, with cast baluster finial and with chased cartouche. Engraved with contemporary arms on body and crest on cover.
The arms are those of BRISCO, an ancient family which founded and settled at Brisco, near Carlisle, at the Conquest in 1066.
