The arms are those of Greville for George, 2nd Earl of Warwick of Warwick Castle (1746-1816). His first wife Georgiana, only daughter of Sir James Peachy Bart, 1st Lord Selsey, died in 1772. In 1776 he married Henrietta, daughter of Richard Vernon of Hilton, co. Stafford, granddaughter of John 1st Earl Gower, by whom he had several children including Henry Richard, 3rd Earl.
This punch bowl is recorded in an 1806 inventory of Warwick Castle, now held at the Warwickshire County Record Office in Warwick, as:

“ Large Silver Bowl 155=0 “ (CR1886/TN1053 - “An Inventory and valuation of all the singular household furniture, plate, glassware, live and dead stock, and a variety of other effects belonging to Rt. Hon.ble Earl of Warwick at Warwick Caste and places adjacent. Appraised April 1806”)

It is also listed at Warwick on May 1 1837 as

“ 1 Punch Bowl Left at Warwick” (CR1886/TN 908- “ A List of Plate 1838)

And on December 5, 1871 as

“ 1 Silver Punch Bowl” (CR1886/TN 908- "List of Plate”)
