SOLD - An Elizabethan Parcel-Gilt Lion Sejant Spoon
A fine Elizabethan lion-sejant spoon, so called for the seated (sejant) lion at the finial. This spoon was reportedly found in the kitchen gully at Sandgate castle; the mottled texture of the bowl is typical of silver that has been buried, but fortunately the marks and the gilding have been nicely preserved.
