Of inverted baluster form with stepped spreading foot, double scroll wood handle, scrolling spout with leaf-cap, the stepped domed cover with gadrooned calyx below cast foliate finial, engraved "T. J. Gardner", marked under base with maker's mark and "N.York".

This piece is very close in style to coffee pots by Myer Myers. This is not surprising because, as David Barquist explains in "Myer Myers", "Fueter probably had more impact on Myers than any other silversmith" (p. 40). He notes strong stylistic similarities in their work, suggesting that "Fueter and Myers may have shared casting patterns" (p. 41), and also that "It is also possible that Myers ... supplied Fueter with ... objects to mark and sell" (p. 41).

This piece is almost identical to the Charity Johnson coffee pot by Myer Myers now at Columbia University, no. 20, pp. 101-3
