SOLD - A Rare Early American Silver Soap Box
Of standard English/French form, engraved on top with a lady's coat of arms.
The arms are those of Martin impaling Ingram for William Martin and his wife Mary Ingram. They were married in Baltimore on April 13, 1784. The use of a lozenge-shaped cartouche indicates that this piece was made for Mary after her husband's death.
