Description

Each of oval form with gadroon-mounted rim and matching panel feet, the surface engraved with a coat of arms within drapery mantling suspended from ribbon bows with a bright-cut border of running leaves and fruit.

Hannam & Crouch made the best salvers of the period. As Arthur Grimwade notes: "The two partnerships of this firm appear to have had a virtual monopoly in the trade as makers of fine quality salvers and waiters. ("London Goldsmiths 1697-1837: Their Marks and Lives", p. 533).
