A Gold-Mounted Rock Crystal Goblet & Cover
A fascinating object, neo-Renaissance, and probably dating to about 1830, the exceptionally fine rock-crystal is engraved with the crest of Leeson, probably for the 3rd or 4th Earl of Milltown. It is highly unusual for an object of this type to be engraved with an English (or Irish) crest. Also very rare is the fact of the mounts being gold--they would normally be silver-gilt.
