Silver over 15K yellow gold, of fringe design with removable back section to convert into tiara, set with 130 Old European cut diamonds (approximately 5.55 ct. total weight, mounted weight established by formula and limited by mount) and 35 button pearls, unmarked, with removable tiara frame and fitted box.

The box is marked "Catchpole and Williams / (Late C.J. Hill) / 510 Oxford St. W." This well-known silver and jewelry firm was founded in about 1832, and exhibited at many international fairs, including the Franco-British Exhibition of 1908 where they showed the famous Medici collar. This piece was mounted with diamonds, rubies and pearls, and was praised in the press for its ingenious construction which made it flexible, light and yet substantial.
